Duties and Role:
1. Monitoring the performance of assigned systems and the definition and implementation of adequate measures ensuring an optimal performance and high availability of the DB services;
2. Defining DB backup strategies and ensuring a valid and maintained recovery plan is in place;
3. Defining and implementing an upgrade strategy to keep the DB environment current;
4. Management/Upgrade/Patching of BI stack, composed of Oracle Analytics, Weblogic, Apache, Tomcat, Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE), Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) and Oracle Analytics Server (OAS).
5. Selecting and implementing appropriate DB infrastructure configurations in support of business/technology architectures;
6. Performs routine installation, re-configuration, backups of database and related products on on-premises and cloud environments.
7. Develops and configures tools to enable automation of database administration tasks.
8. Defining and implementing an upgrade strategy to keep the DB platforms up to date;
9. Keeping up to date Software Lifecycle (roadmap) management of database products ;
10. Monitors performance statistics and create reports.
Requirements
Skill, Knowledge & Experience:
11. The candidate must have a currently active NATO SECRET security clearance
12. Strong knowledge the DBMS technologies (Oracle, MySQL Server and PostgreSQL) and sound experience on at least two;
13. Good understanding of MySQL High Availability/Disaster Recovery solutions (MySQL InnoDB Cluster, MySQL InnoDB Replicaset, MySQL InnoDB ClusterSet, MySQL Replication)
14. Good understanding of ORDS, Apache HTTP and Tomcat administration
15. Current and in-depth knowledge and practical working experience of latest version of the operating systems (Linux/ UNIX and MS Windows Server );
16. A good understanding of more advanced architectures on High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions, like server clustering and virtual infrastructures;
