Client Onboarding Specialist

Hong Kong

Monday – Friday, 09:00 – 18:00

Intro

Client onboarding is a critical function at CSC. Our Private Client Team serves high-net-worth individuals and families focusing on setting up and managing trust structure for succession planning and asset protection. We provide tailored administration and practical solutions to support private clients and family offices across jurisdictions and asset types while adhering to global regulations and compliance. You will be a key member to facilitate the 'best in class' onboarding journey for our high-net-worth clients by working closely with the Private Client Team to provide support in various processes.

Some of the things you'll be doing:

Client onboarding
Handle and support the new client onboarding process including client identity verification, source of wealth/funds check, client documentation review
Ensure accurate data entry and completeness of all required document upload into the onboarding system and timely submission
Manage and coordinate the approval of new onboarding clients to the key stakeholders
Keep track of and follow up on any post-onboarding outstanding documents and issues before the expiry date
Act as part of the first line of defense, ensuring risk-based assessments are conducted efficiently and accurately.
Identify and escalate onboarding issues e.g. PEP (Politically Exposed Persons) and sanctioned clients in accordance with local and global regulations.
Compliance and due diligence for onboarding
Conduct professional review of client profiles, including KYC (Know Your Customer), CDD (customer due diligence) review, AML (Anti-Money Laundering) and name screening.
Review and corroborate the client's source of wealth and source of funds
Ensure compliance with both the Group and local framework
Support the Private Client Team in handling CDD / KYC issues
File Review support
Collect and analyze business data for file review annual budgets
Work with the Private Client Team on file review to meet regulatory obligations without client detriment
Responsible for the remediation plan, where applicable / provide data for the business to complete
Reporting
Responsible for regular reports to keep track of various status including CDD monthly report, file review report, and other ad hoc data requests
Process Improvement
Participate in projects to streamline the onboarding process, implement new technology and ensure ongoing compliance with evolving regulatory requirements.
Act as a local coordinator for onboarding activities, ensuring alignment with global enterprise onboarding strategies.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including legal, compliance, risk, and operations teams, to drive process efficiencies.
Ensure onboarding policies, procedures, processes are aligned with group framework and the required local regulations

What technical skills, experience, and qualifications do you need?

Typically requires 5-8 years of experience in the financial services industry, with a strong preference for private banking or wealth management
Prior experience in trust administration, KYC and SOW review, or compliance is required.
A strong understating of local and international regulatory requirements (e.g. HKMA and TCSP in Hong Kong) is essential
Bachelor's degree in law/accounting/business administration/corporate governance or related academic qualifications
Fluency in both written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua)
Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
Be a team player, strong attentive to details, independent and pro-active
Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
