Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer
About the Role:
In this position, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for designing and implementing mechanical solutions for various industrial projects. You will work closely with the Project Manager to ensure that all installations meet international norms and standards, project requirements, and project standards.
Main Responsibilities:
* Determine material choices based on project specifications
* Develop welding procedures in consultation with external welding engineers
* Select and interpret applicable norms, codes, and standards (international, customer-specific, and/or internal)
* Perform mechanical design calculations
* Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers
* Assist in daily follow-up of activities during project realization
* Monitor quality in execution of project and fabrication
* Drawing up checklists and purchase lists (mechanical)
* Follow-up of ITP (Inspection and Test Plan)
* Carry out checks and inspections during fabrication erection
* Comply with safety regulations
* Recognize opportunities for value engineering
Requirements:
You should have a Master's degree or equivalent by experience. Practical experience in welded constructions, equipment construction, and piping is essential. Applied knowledge of Microsoft packages, Excel, Word, and Outlook is required. Experience in performing and following projects in the chemical and petrochemical industry is an asset. Additionally, hands-on experience using design and calculation software and knowledge of CAD systems Inventor/Autocad are beneficial. Strong understanding of PID's and PFD's is also necessary. Ability to participate in safety audits or surveillances and willingness to travel up to 10% are desirable skills.
