About the job As a Platform Engineer at Sofico, joining our Product Platform Solutions Operations team, you’ll directly contribute to modernizing critical infrastructure, scaling a cloud-first platform, and enabling seamless experiences for top-tier automotive and mobility customers worldwide. You’ll join our Platform Operations Team, part of Sofico’s global Platform organization. We’re a close-knit group of engineers spread across multiple time zones, who collaborate daily to build and maintain the backbone of Sofico’s solutions. In Belgium: In our Ghent office, you would become part of a global team, collaborating with people all around the world. Your responsibilities include : Setting up and managing scalable infrastructure (e.g. VM’s, Spoke’s, peering, firewall, …) in Azure, Through automation using Terraform, Ansible, and GitOps. Monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining infrastructure f or global customers. Zabbix, OpsGenie, Prometheus, Grafana, FluentBit & Loki Setting up and maintaining Site-2-Site IPSEC VPN tunnels between our infrastructure and our customers. Setting up and maintaining Cloudflare ( WAF, tunnel, DNS, custom hostnames, …) Managing global firewall, networks ranges and availability. Supporting customers & other Sofico teams directly and providing technical consulting. Modernising legacy components into scalable, cloud-native solutions. Sharing knowledge within the team and across Sofico. What You Bring We’re aiming high because we want the best, but what’s on your resume isn’t everything. You don’t need to tick every box, but if you recognize yourself in most of these: Proven experience with at least one cloud provider (Azure, AWS, OCI, …). Azure is our main stack, so proven Azure knowledge is a great advantage. Proven experience with Linux systems (& commands). Experience with Firewall tool (e.g. Fortinet, Fortimanager, Forti analyser) Extended networking knowledge (DNS, Firewall, VDom, Adom, routing, Cloudflare…) Strong communicator, comfortable explaining infra topics to technical and non-technical audiences. Customer-oriented: able to jump on a call, ask the right questions, and solve problems. Analytical mindset with attention to detail. Curious, proactive, and eager to learn new technologies. A true team player who enjoys helping colleagues succeed. Fluent in English, any other language is a plus. Nice to have: Kubernetes, Helm, databases (Oracle and/or MS SQL), OCI, Data guard, Palo Alto, Terraform, Veeam, SFTP, AD, Entra, Ansible, Podman/Docker, JBoss, Postgres, Flux, Reverse Proxies, Kafka, CI pipelines, HVR, microservice deployments, advanced Kubernetes concepts like operators, experience in delivering software artifacts to customers.
