:
1. Performs, reviews, and interprets complex, esoteric, and routine chemical, hematological, coagulation, renal, lipid, and hormonal analyses by manual, automated, and/or microscopic means.
2. Integrates analytical results with specific and highly varied clinical trial protocols to evaluate credibility, appropriateness and accuracy of test results in order to facilitate entry or exclusion of subjects from research programs.
3. Operates, maintains, troubleshoots and repairs clinical laboratory equipment, including routine preventative maintenance, calibrations, and safety checks.
4. Recognizes and pursues instrument problems and resolutions.
5. Evaluates analytical reagents, calibrators, and QC standards to ensure the accuracy of analytical results.
6. Evaluates quality control procedures, evaluates results, and implements corrective action when indicated.
7. Assists in carrying out ongoing statistical data analysis to detect trends and problems and undertakes corrective action.
Required Education & Experience:
8. Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 0 to 2 years’).
9. Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification in the following Preferred Fields of Study: Biological Sciences, Chemistry, or related field.
10. Relevant certifications in laboratory techniques.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
11. Demonstrated knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and aseptic techniques
12. Proficiency in handling and processing biological specimens and hazardous materials
13. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate documentation
14. Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) preferred
15. Ability to operate standard laboratory equipment and analytical instruments
16. Good computer skills including Microsoft Office applications
17. Strong organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple tasks
18. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
19. Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in temperature-controlled environments
20. Ability to work with hazardous materials and wear required PPE
21. Availability for overtime or alternate shifts as needed
22. Knowledge of GMP/GLP practices preferred
23. Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
24. May require working in cold environments with exposure to dry ice and liquid nitrogen
25. Must follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized workspace
