Overview

The Logistics Safety Leader for Latin America is responsible for defining, driving, and sustaining the regional logistics safety strategy, ensuring consistent deployment of logistics safety programmes and governance across all LA operations. The role focuses on strengthening our Safety Culture by promoting safety leadership, ownership, and accountability at all levels. The person will drive continuous logistics safety improvements through robust KPIs monitoring, field engagement, and cross-functional collaboration. The role will also ensure the robust governance of EVD/iPOMS, leading root cause analysis (RCA), and promoting strong field engagement.


Key Responsibilities

* Drive and sustain the Logistics Safety Strategy for the Latin America region, aligned with global safety priorities.
* Lead deployment and governance of logistics safety programmes, ensuring consistent execution across all LA operations.
* Own regional EVD and iPOMS governance, tracking adoption, data quality, and performance against targets.
* Lead incident investigations and RCAs, ensuring strong preventive and systemic actions are implemented and closed.
* Define, monitor, and report logistics safety KPIs, identifying trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
* Conduct and monitor programmes for gemba walks, site visits, and ride-alongs to validate execution and reinforce safety culture.
* Participate in and support Safety eCAPs audits, ensuring calendar adherence, clear action plans are defined based on audit gaps, and actions are closed on time.
* Ensure all owned warehouses are conducting Daily Safety Shift meetings, ensuring meeting adherence, follow-ups completed, and accountability is in place.
* Build logistics safety capability through coaching and engagement with logistics teams, carriers, and key stakeholders.


Required Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Logistics, Engineering, Operations, Safety, or a related field.
* 8+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain, or safety roles, with direct exposure to logistics safety risk management.
* Proven experience driving safety programmes in complex, multicountry operations, preferably across Latin America.
* Strong hands-on experience leading incident investigations and Root Cause Analyses (RCA) with a focus on systemic and preventive actions.
* Demonstrated experience defining, monitoring, and managing safety KPIs (leading and lagging indicators).
* Solid understanding of transportation safety, chemical transfer risk, contractor safety, and logistics operational risks.
* Experience conducting field engagement activities such as gemba walks, site audits, and ride-along programmes.
* Ability to influence and lead without direct authority, engaging cross-functional stakeholders (Operations, Engineering, Procurement, Safety).
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to present clearly to senior leadership.
* Willingness to travel frequently within the LA region.
* Fluent in English and Spanish (written and verbal).


Preferred Qualifications

* Professional safety certifications (e.g. NEBOSH, CSP, IOSH, or equivalent).
* Direct experience implementing or governing digital safety tools and engineered fail-safe solutions.
* Experience participating in or leading Safety eCAPs, or structured safety governance forums.
* Background working with global safety frameworks in matrix organisations.
* Demonstrated success in driving safety culture transformation, including behaviour-based safety, visible leadership, and speak up culture.
* Experience working with third-party carriers and logistics service providers in high-risk or regulated environments.
* Strong change management capability, with a track record of converting strategy into disciplined execution.
* Portuguese language proficiency is a strong plus.
