At the Puurs site, our Engineering department consists of around 500 employees. Engineering is responsible for delivering all investment projects according to plan and within budget, ensuring that these installations are robust and high-performing for the production of high-quality injectable medicines. Through validation tests and the required documentation, we demonstrate the suitability of the installations. We develop projects starting from project definition and scope up to production startup, after which the new installations are transferred to Operations.
As our production departments are experiencing strong growth and the site continues to expand, the supporting processes that supply raw materials and components to the production departments must evolve as well. In this way, we ensure more efficient material flows and build more robust processes that enable “just-in-time” delivery to production.
The role of Project Engineer Transport and Handling Equipment fits within the increasing need to automate processes and improve our existing logistics processes. The automation projects range from robotization of manual processes, bottleneck studies, and optimization of pallet transport to the transport of vials and syringes.
