Job Description
I am currently seeking a Mechanical Quantity Surveyor to join a major project in Belgium. The successful candidate will support the commercial delivery of mechanical packages across a large-scale mission-critical project, working closely with project teams, subcontractors, and senior commercial management throughout the project lifecycle. This position offers excellent exposure to complex engineering environments and long-term opportunities within a growing European project pipeline.
Responsibilities
* Review and understand project contract documentation
* Prepare and analyse supplier and subcontractor enquiries
* Prepare and issue contract documentation across the supply chain
* Monitor scope changes and manage variation pricing
* Prepare and agree monthly progress applications
* Manage financial and contractual control of subcontract accounts
* Issue contractual notices and assess loss, expense, and acceleration claims
* Produce monthly commercial project reports and forecasts
* Monitor project cash flow and commercial performance
* Support commercial risk management and reporting activities
* Liaise with clients, contractors, subcontractors, and internal project teams
Requirements
* Degree qualified or relevant industry experience
* 3–5 years’ experience within a Quantity Surveying role
* Strong understanding of construction and engineering contracts
* Previous experience working with Mechanical work packages
* Good commercial and contractual knowledge
* Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving capability
* High attention to detail and accuracy
* Strong Excel capability
