Credendo GSR's mission is to support trade relations. We provide customised solutions of credit insurance, surety and single risks related to domestic and international trade transactions. We protect companies, banks and insurance undertakings against credit and political risks, and facilitate the financing of such transactions.
About the role
As a Surety Underwriter with a focus on risk and commercial aspects at Credendo GSR, you are responsible for conducting financial analyses, assessing surety risks, and implementing appropriate actions to support clients while minimizing potential losses for the company. The goal is to develop to a role balancing underwriting skills with active client contact and the opportunity to prospect for new business opportunities.
Your responsibilities:
Conduct in-depth credit risk assessments for the Surety business line, analyzing financial data and market dynamics.Build and maintain client relationships, identify opportunities, and tailor solutions to meet their evolving needs.Negotiate with clients, brokers, and partners to deliver value-driven, risk-aligned outcomes.Underwrite contracts and manage bonds, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with underwriting guidelines.Monitor and mitigate risks throughout the full insurance cycle, including potential claims phases.Provide input into the development of new products and improvements of existing offerings.Support or take part in decision-making processes, offering well-researched proposals for various risk levels.
What we expect
A university degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or Business ScienceAt least 2 years of proven experience as a Credit Analyst, Risk Underwriter or similar (within risk department or associate front office department)Proficiency in using IT tools and systemsFluency in French and English (C2 level), with at least basic knowledge of DutchSolid understanding of financial analysis and basic accounting principlesStrong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and integrate diverse sets of informationWell-developed negotiation and interpersonal skillsHigh level of accuracy, attention to detail, and sound judgment
