PpWe are currently looking for a bSenior Design Engineer – Ports Waterways /b in the framework of a blarge marine infrastructure project /b in Belgium. /p pThe assignment consists in taking the design lead for all or part of a major bPorts Waterways /b project, while acting as a key technical reference for the team and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality engineering solutions from concept design through to completion. /p pOn a daily basis, the Senior Design Engineer will report directly to the bTeam Manager /b. /p h3Responsibilities /h3 ul liTake the design lead for all or part of a large marine infrastructure project. /li liAct as bPrincipal Engineer /b on the project and coordinate, guide and coach junior engineers and CAD designers. /li liLiaise with the different design teams involved in the project and contribute to an integrated design approach across all relevant disciplines. /li liEnsure smooth coordination between engineering teams and support the delivery of projects from bconcept design to detailed design and completion /b. /li liMaintain constructive and client-oriented communication with clients and external partners on all technical design matters. /li liDesign and dimension marine infrastructure projects in accordance with current bBelgian and European standards, legislation, codes of practice and internal guidelines /b. /li liPrepare engineering deliverables at all stages of the project, including bpreliminary design, basis design, tender design and detailed design /b. /li liContribute to the design of marine and hydraulic structures such as bport and waterway development studies, port master plans, locks, quay walls, jetties, bridge foundations, flood protection areas, dikes and breakwaters /b. /li liFollow developments in construction methods in order to optimise the design, while remaining open to innovative and alternative technical solutions. /li liBe responsible for the follow-up of bprogress, quality and performance /b of the project activities carried out by the team. /li liApply and further develop technical skills in engineering software and calculation tools such as bSCIA Engineer, D-Sheet Piling, Ansys and Plaxis /b. /li liStay up to date with applicable standards, new techniques and developments within the discipline. /li liSupport the Tender Manager in the preparation of battractive, competitive and innovative technical offers /b. /li liActively contribute to the commercial phase when required, including technical input for competitive bidding. /li /ul h3Requirements /h3 ul liMaster’s degree in bCivil Engineering /b, ideally with a specialization in bConstruction Design /b, bDredging and Offshore Engineering /b, or a related field. /li liA degree as bCivil Engineer /b or bIndustrial Engineer in Civil Engineering /b is required. A Bachelor’s degree in bCivil Engineering Technologies /b followed by a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering is also acceptable. /li liStrong experience in bcalculation work /b, which may have been gained in marine infrastructure or in other fields such as bstructures, bridges, tunnels or buildings /b. /li liProven experience in bstructural calculations /b involving bconcrete and/or steel and/or geotechnics /b. /li liGood knowledge of the bEurocodes /b is mandatory. /li liExperience in coordinating or coaching bjunior engineers and CAD designers /b is highly valued. /li liExperience in tendering or competitive bidding is considered a strong advantage. /li liDutch is bmandatory /b, including the ability to bindependently write calculation notes in Dutch /b. /li liGood communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with clients, partners and multidisciplinary engineering teams. /li liThe candidate must be based in bFlanders /b and willing to work b2 days per week /b in bGhent, Antwerp or Ostend /b. /li liAvailability for bsite interventions /b when required. /li /ul /p #J-18808-Ljbffr
