We are currently seeking an experienced Construction Manager to join our team and work on-site at one of our prestigious clients in the pharmaceutical sector in Gent.
Role Overview:
As a Construction Manager, you will act as a technical expert in the design, construction, safety, verification, and startup of facilities for cell and gene therapy capital construction projects. You will develop and implement project-specific construction approaches in alignment with global and regional strategies, ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of complex projects such as manufacturing sites, warehouses, office buildings, and laboratories.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide expertise throughout the execution of assigned capital construction projects, ensuring alignment with client strategies.
* Develop and implement construction approaches tailored to each project.
* Facilitate safe building design and construction, protecting contractors and ensuring compliance with all safety standards.
* Collaborate with project leaders and cross-functional teams to select and qualify external construction partners.
* Ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and programs related to construction safety, quality, and performance.
* Track and report on goals, KPIs, and project progress.
* Conduct regular assessments and reviews, identifying areas for improvement and leading the development of action plans.
* Support contract development and negotiations, schedule adherence, and change order management.
* Drive continuous improvement by capturing and leveraging lessons learned.
* Develop and deliver construction management communications, and participate in management and project meetings.
* Provide technical solutions and cost-effective strategies across all functional project areas.
Profile Requirements:
Education:
* University/Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.
* Degree in Science, Engineering, Architecture, or a related Construction Management field is highly desirable.
Experience and Skills:
* 8-10 years of progressive experience in Construction Management.
* Demonstrated expertise in identifying, mitigating, and controlling risks in capital construction projects.
* Strong understanding of contract development, enforcement, and negotiations.
* Experience managing construction labor forces and field activities.
* Proven track record in construction safety, quality, cost, and schedule management.
* Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Preferred:
* FPX or PMP certification.
* Experience with tracking technology and industry trends.
