In this senior procurement role, you will help shape and execute the category strategy for Capex projects across an international investment portfolio. The focus is on large engineering, construction, and equipment contracts, with attention to total cost of ownership, risk control, supplier performance, and sourcing effectiveness.
Tasks and responsibilities
* Map and assess the full project pipeline within the assigned category, including associated risks and opportunities.
* Perform internal analyses on spend, scope, and incumbent suppliers or contractors to support the category strategy.
* Develop a strong understanding of the global supply market and convert market insights into concrete category initiatives.
* Work closely with Engineering and category stakeholders to identify standardization opportunities that reduce TCO and limit risk.
* Evaluate low-cost-country sourcing opportunities in alignment with Engineering.
* Prepare, present, and obtain approval for the category strategy through the relevant governance channels.
* Define category milestones, monitor progress, and ensure alignment with project procurement strategies.
* Strengthen sourcing outcomes through advanced commercial approaches and negotiation techniques.
* Partner with Project Procurement Managers to translate category strategy into project-specific procurement actions.
* Lead source-to-contract activities for major contracts within the category, including negotiations and contract management.
* Serve as the main point of contact for strategic suppliers and contractors, and drive Supplier Relationship Management activities.
* Proactively manage supply, financial, and operational risks.
* Support expediting and follow-up activities, and contribute to claim management when needed.
* Ensure compliance with procurement processes, templates, and standards.
* Assist with internal and external audits.
* Act as a driver of procurement excellence and category transformation.
* Report progress against the agreed roadmap and milestone plan.
Location
* The main work location can be Hoboken or Olen.
* Regular presence at the other site may also be required.
* A minimum onsite presence of 3 days per week is mandatory; during onboarding, more onsite presence is expected.
* Very limited international travel may be required.
Your profile
Technical profile requirements
* University degree in Engineering, Economics, or an equivalent field.
* At least 5 years of experience as a Category Procurement Manager in an international industrial environment.
* At least 7 years of broader procurement experience.
* Strong expertise in Capex procurement, industrial contracting, and large-scale project environments.
* Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.
* Strong analytical capabilities, including spend analysis and market analysis.
* Advanced knowledge of MS Office and basic familiarity with procurement tools and platforms such as Ariba and SAP.
* Ability to manage complex supplier networks and global supply markets.
