To strengthen our vibrant IT Team, we are currently looking for a highly motivated, experienced and dynamic Senior IT Systems Engineer.
What are we looking for?
In this pivotal role, you are responsible for advanced technical support, system administration, and the optimisation of our office IT based on MS365. You will lead complex projects, mentor junior staff and serve as a subject matter expert in several IT domains. You will also be customer focused, providing training and support towards users for edge cases.
Key Responsibilities
* MS 365 Administration: Oversee and enhance deployment and management of MS 365 services (Intune, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, Microsoft Entra ID). Drive improvements and complex troubleshooting.
* Hardware Management: Lead setup, configuration, and troubleshooting of advanced user hardware, including high-performance computing and specialised peripherals.
* System Security & Compliance: Implement security policies and manage advanced security settings and compliance protocols within MS Entra ID.
* Technical Leadership: Mentor IT Systems Engineers and other technical staff. Lead by example in managing complex IT issues and projects.
* Project Management: Spearhead major IT projects, including infrastructure upgrades, migrations and technology integrations. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget.
* Advanced Troubleshooting & Support: Handle escalated issues involving complex systems and infrastructure. Provide expert-level support and problem resolution.
* Documentation & Training towards IT staff: Create and maintain detailed documentation for IT systems and procedures. Develop and conduct training sessions for staff on new technologies and systems.
* Documentation & Training towards user community: Create and maintain clear documentation towards users. Develop and conduct training sessions to user community to increase their IT literacy and inspire them in using and experiencing new features in the MS 365 tools offered.
Job requirements
What do you bring?
* Formal education: you hold a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field (Master's preferred);
* You have minimum 7 years of experience in IT, with substantial expertise in MS 365 environments and complex IT infrastructures;
* Languages: You are proficient in both written and spoken English and preferably also Dutch;
* Profound knowledge and hands-on experience with MS 365 applications, Microsoft Entra ID, Intune and advanced system security;
* Strong leadership and mentoring skills;
* High-level problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple, complex projects simultaneously.
Preferred Skills
* Advanced certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert);
* Expertise in Azure and Cloud management, cybersecurity and compliance management;
* Proven track record of innovation and efficiency improvements in IT operations;
* Proactive, solution-oriented mentality.
Working Conditions
* Combination of office and home working possible within company policy (1x/week);
* Occasional after-hours work for upgrades, deployments or critical issues;
* On-call availability in a rotation system for urgent issues and system outages outside normal business hours;
* May involve travel to other office locations for IT deployments or training.
