The functional safety engineer will support nuclear power plant activities during the pre-planning phase, followed by design and cutting, dismantling execution, and final documentation and compliance stages. The role is highly safety-critical and requires direct work inside nuclear facilities.

Language Requirements

Key Responsibilities
* Perform onsite safety inspections within nuclear power plants
* Ensure compliance with radiation protection requirements
* Verify reactor safety systems are functioning as designed, including:
* Cooling systems
* Containment systems
* Reactor shutdown systems
* Support functional and nuclear safety activities in line with regulatory standards
* Prepare and review technical and safety documentation during the pre-planning phase
* Contribute to subsequent project phases:
* Design and cutting preparation
* Dismantling execution
* Final technical documentation and client compliance
* Ensure adherence to all client, regulatory, and nuclear safety requirements
Required Experience
* Minimum 5 years’ experience working within the nuclear power plant industry
* Proven experience working inside nuclear facilities
* Strong background in nuclear safety, radiation protection, or functional safety
* Prior experience on Belgian nuclear power plants is strongly preferred
* Completion of required nuclear medical and site safety training (Belgian standards preferred)
