We’re looking for a Team Leader to guide and motivate an Underwriting & Policy Servicing team of 8 enthusiastic professionals. You’ll be at the heart of daily operations, people development, and continuous improvement... all with the customer firmly at the center.
What you’ll be doing 🧭
* Lead, coach, and support the team in their daily activities, providing guidance and training where needed
* Set priorities and manage weekly workloads to ensure smooth operations
* Identify and drive improvements in service quality (mail, calls, complaints handling, etc.)
* Foster a strong customer-first mindset, adapting services to the needs of clients and brokers
* Translate departmental objectives into clear, achievable team goals and monitor performance
* Support individual development through regular one-to-one meetings, coaching, and performance evaluations
* Chair information sessions and project-related meetings
* Create a positive, motivating environment where team members can grow and thrive
* Co-create team strategy together with the Life Retail Manager
* Manage the team’s allocated budget
* Analyze potential customer complaints and propose effective, sustainable solutions
What you bring 🎯
* A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Insurance or Economics
* Strong expertise in life insurance and a solid understanding of operational processes
* At least 5 years of experience in the life insurance sector
* Proven leadership skills, able to inspire trust and drive results through collaboration
* Excellent command of Dutch or French, with a very good knowledge of the other national language
* Strong skills in MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
* Knowledge of Lean management is a plus
* A structured, well-organized approach with the ability to manage priorities and tight deadlines
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders
* A participative leadership style and the agility to learn quickly in a changing environment
* A positive, dynamic mindset and openness to new ideas ✨
