An exciting freelance opportunity is now open to contribute to a transformative project in the European energy sector. We're looking for an experienced IT Project Manager to join a dynamic team driving sustainability, innovation, and reliable energy infrastructure across borders.

* Position: Freelance IT Project Manager
* Duration: 12-Month Contract (strong extension potential)
* Location: Brussels (Hybrid – up to 3 days remote)
* Languages: English AND French or Dutch

Core Responsibilities:
* Lead the full lifecycle of IT projects, from initiation and planning to monitoring and execution, ensuring that projects meet scope, budget, and timeline requirements.
* Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to prioritise and manage a project portfolio within the energy sector.
* Coordinate with technical teams to manage the development and implementation of IT solutions, including real-time control systems and energy market tools.
* Validate business requirements and translate them into functional and technical specifications, with a focus on .NET technologies.
* Oversee testing and quality management processes, ensuring robust and secure software deployment.
* Manage external vendors and developers, ensuring effective communication and collaboration to ensure timely delivery.
* Support end users and ensure effective second-line support during rollouts.
* Identify and mitigate risks, maintaining proactive oversight throughout the project lifecycle.
Essential Skills:
* Strong experience in IT project management, with a focus on operational processes and software development projects.
* Proven experience in managing IT projects using Microsoft technologies (.NET, Visual Studio, SQL Server).
* Knowledge of agile frameworks such as Scrum or Lean Management.
* Ability to communicate effectively with developers, business stakeholders, and technical teams.
* Solid experience with project planning, issue resolution, and managing project documentation.
* Strong organisational and analytical skills with a customer-centric mindset.
* Fluent in English with a good knowledge of Dutch and/or French.
Desirable Skills:
* Familiarity with energy sector processes, including real-time management of power grids and energy markets.
* Experience in digital transformation and technology-driven innovation.
* Strong understanding of quality assurance processes and testing strategies for software solutions.
* Experience with cross-national and multi-stakeholder project management.
