As a Project Engineer Mechanical/Piping, you will be responsible for the design, technical follow‑up and execution of mechanical and piping projects within industrial facilities. You will work in sectors such as chemicals, pharmaceuticals, oil & gas, food processing, or energy, on projects ranging from revamping to full-scale construction of new installations.
Your role is central to ensuring technical coordination, compliance with standards, and the operational performance of mechanical and piping systems.
ABOUT THE POSITION:
* Perform design, sizing and 2D/3D modelling of piping networks and mechanical equipment.
* Review and/or prepare P&IDs, isometrics, layouts, mechanical diagrams and equipment datasheets.
* Conduct or validate flexibility and stress calculations, support design, thickness analysis, etc.
* Prepare technical specifications, procurement documents and tender packages.
* Participate in the technical evaluation of vendors, review quotations and support equipment selection.
* Provide site supervision, check installation compliance and manage field modifications.
* Ensure compliance with applicable standards (PED, EN13480, ASME, API…).
* Collaborate with E&I, Process, HSE, Construction and Maintenance teams.
* Support continuous improvement of mechanical/piping methods and engineering standards.
ABOUT YOU:
* 4 to 8 years of experience in mechanical/piping engineering within an industrial environment.
* Strong knowledge of piping design, pressure equipment, rotating/static equipment, pumps, heat exchangers, skid packages, etc.
* Good understanding of relevant standards: PED, ASME, API, EN13480, construction codes and site safety requirements.
* Experience with 2D/3D tools such as AutoCAD, E3D, PDMS, Plant3D, SolidWorks (depending on profile).
* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, interacting with multidisciplinary teams.
* Analytical mindset, rigor, autonomy and strong communication skills.
* Dutch and English required.
