For one of our clients in the Data Center Industry, we are looking for a QA Manager to establish, implement, and maintain the Project Quality Management System, ensuring that all works associated with the data centre substation are delivered in full compliance with contractual requirements, applicable standards, client specifications, and regulatory obligations. The role is critical to ensuring first-time-right delivery, minimising rework, and supporting safe, reliable energisation of the substation.
Your Responsabilities
Quality Management & Governance
* Develop, implement, and manage the Project Quality Plan (PQP) in line with ISO 9001 and project requirements
* Integrate the QMS across all disciplines: civil, structural, architectural, electrical, and commissioning
* Maintain controlled procedures for document control, inspections, testing, NCRs, and continuous improvement
* Provide quality reporting and ensure risks are identified, communicated, and managed
Design & Technical Assurance
* Coordinate quality reviews of design deliverables against client, utility, and international standards (IEC, EN, BS, IEEE)
* Manage and verify interfaces between primary plant, secondary systems, protection, control, and SCADA
* Support design risk reviews and constructability assessments from a quality perspective
Construction Quality Control
* Establish and manage Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) for all substation works
* Verify construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, and method statements
* Implement and control hold points, witness points, and inspection sign-offs
Supplier & Subcontractor Quality
* Review and approve subcontractor and supplier Quality Plans, ITPs, and procedures
* Monitor performance through audits, inspections, and surveillance
* Plan, witness, and document FATs and SATs
* Manage quality requirements for long-lead items (transformers, switchgear, protection and control systems)
Non-Conformance & Corrective Actions
* Manage the NCR process including logging, root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions
* Verify close-out of NCRs and track trends to drive proactive improvements
Testing, Commissioning & Handover
* Ensure testing and commissioning activities follow approved procedures and ITPs
* Verify accuracy and completeness of test records, certificates, and compliance documentation
* Lead quality input to walkdowns, punch-list management, and energisation readiness
* Ensure final handover documentation (as-builts, O&M manuals, test packs) is complete and approved
Audits & Continuous Improvement
* Plan and conduct internal audits and support client, utility, and external certification audits
* Monitor quality KPIs and report performance to project and senior management
* Capture lessons learned and promote best practices for future projects
Interface & Stakeholder Management
* Act as the primary quality interface with clients, utilities, grid operators, and independent certifiers
* Coordinate with engineering, construction, commissioning, and HSE teams to support aligned project delivery
Your Profile
* Strong experience in HV substations, preferably within data centre environments.
* Detailed understanding of HV primary and secondary systems.
* Working knowledge of ISO 9001, utility standards, and grid compliance requirements.
* Proven ability to manage quality across EPC or multi-contractor projects.
* Excellent documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
