Job Description
This role involves providing technical expertise throughout all product life stages, auditing and validating technical choices, contributing to the definition of R&T roadmaps, maintaining and developing design team expertise, ensuring knowledge management, supporting teams in critical projects, and ensuring strong technical partnerships with universities and research centers.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide technical guidance on R&T products, development, production, and service validation.
* Audit and validate technical decisions during design reviews and product validation for compressors.
* Contribute to the definition of R&T roadmaps by envisioning future technologies and design methods required to achieve the long-term strategic vision.
* Maintain and develop the design team's expertise by leading workshops, representing Safran Aero Boosters within the Safran Group, and acting as a mentor for future generations of experts.
* Ensure knowledge management within the teams by implementing tools based on clients' feedback and training teams regarding new design practices.
* Support teams in critical projects by providing expertise to resolve technical crises and ensuring the quality and safety of our products.
* Ensure strong technical partnerships with universities and research centers by developing networks and collaborating on research projects.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will need:
* An engineering degree with a specialization in aerodynamics.
* Over 10 years of experience in the aerodynamic design of aircraft compressors or engines, with an understanding of the complete product cycle from design to customer support.
* Advanced expertise in compressor aerodynamics and a good understanding of the performance and operability of complete engines.
* Familiarity with mechanical part design techniques.
* Proficiency in aerodynamic simulation tools and methods.
* Fluent in technical English for communication with international counterparts, with the willingness to quickly acquire a functional level of French for navigating our Knowledge Management resources and daily interactions within our subsidiary.
* Knowledge of aerothermal heat exchangers is a plus.
