Chief Operating Officer – Umamido
Umamido Group is a fast‑growing hospitality company that brings Japanese comfort food to cities across Europe. They operate two distinct brands: Umamido, their flagship ramen concept, and Roru, which offers ultra‑fresh sushi rolls and rice bowls.
To guide the company's evolution and growth and lead their international expansion, starting with France, they are looking for a Chief Operating Officer.
Responsibilities
* Operational leadership: oversee daily operations of all 20 shops, including Umamido and Roru locations in Belgium and 6 franchised locations in Switzerland. Ensure highest standards of food quality, customer experience, and operational excellence.
* Strategic growth: design essential tools and processes that enable rapid expansion across Europe without sacrificing quality, consistency, or control.
* Financial stewardship: take full ownership of the P&L, manage budgets, control costs, and ensure profitability across all business units.
* Management: directly manage and coach district and training managers, fostering a performance‑driven culture.
* Collaborative partnerships: work closely with Finance, HR, F&B, Marketing, and central production teams.
* Franchise support: provide structure, guidance, and tools to help franchise partners succeed and maintain brand standards.
Profile
* Minimum 15 years of experience in hospitality or food sector, with proven multi‑unit leadership.
* Strong financial skills with full P&L ownership.
* Solution‑oriented mindset, inspiring others.
* Forward‑thinking, proactive leader who translates ideas into action.
* Leadership style based on coaching and accountability.
* Comfortable with international complexity and active participation in daily operations.
* Bilingual in English and French; proficiency in Dutch a plus.
