We are currently supporting a leading non-profit
organization in the search for a Head of Accounting to lead their
local accounting function in Belgium. This key position combines
operational ownership, team coordination, and close collaboration
with the Group finance structure. This is not a purely supervisory
role, we are looking for someone hands-on, able to deliver and
support the team on the ground while respecting deadlines, internal
procedures, and local legal constraints. Head of Accounting - Team

Finance Manager and working in close dotted-line with the Group
Accounting Manager, you will ensure the end-to-end management of
accounting processes for six Belgian entities (both company and
non-profit). You will lead a team of 3 accountants and 1 business
controller, oversee all accounting operations, and guarantee the
timely and compliant delivery of financial reports and tax
declarations in accordance with both local regulations and
Group-level processes. Your Responsibilities: - Coordinate,
organize, and supervise all accounting activities, ensuring proper
execution of monthly and annual closings, VAT declarations, ISOC,
Intrastat, BNB filings, etc. - Actively support your team in
operational tasks when needed (e.g. invoice encoding, catch-up for
deadlines). - Apply and promote Group processes at local level
while ensuring full compliance with Belgian accounting and tax
rules. - Plan and monitor team deliverables with a strong focus on
deadlines, structure, and continuous improvement. - Ensure proper
interaction with internal clients and external stakeholders (e.g.
auditors, tax advisors such as BDO). - Contribute to ongoing
digitalization efforts (email automation, workflow streamlining). -
Act as a trusted partner to the Local Finance Manager and play a
key role in knowledge transfer and upskilling within a dynamic
finance team. Profiel - Bachelor's degree in Accounting;
specialization in Taxation is an asset. - 10-15 years' experience
in general accounting with solid people management exposure. -
End-to-end accounting expertise, from bookkeeping to annual
accounts and tax declarations (ISOC, VAT, patrimonial tax). -
Strong knowledge of Belgian regulations and ability to manage
multiple entities simultaneously. - Experience with non-profit/ASBL
structures is a plus. - Operational mindset when needed. -
Proficiency in Excel is a must (pivot tables, formulas);
familiarity with Teams and Agresso (Unit4) is an asset. -
Languages: fluent in French or Dutch with a good command of English
(used in group interactions). - Excellent communication skills,
approachable, and structured. You know how to interact with both
junior team members and senior leadership. - Comfortable in a
