Ph3Technical Advisor (Machining and Fixture Design) /h3 pASCO, headquartered in Zaventem (Belgium) and part of the Swiss group Montana Aerospace, began operations as a private subcontractor in 1954 and has been active in the aerospace industry since 1979. Today ASCO is engaged in a broad range of development, engineering, manufacturing and assembly activities for various markets and aerospace programs around the world. /p pASCO operates from four locations in Belgium, Canada, Germany and USA, with a turnover exceeding 300 million euros and with around 1,100 employees worldwide. /p pASCO produces over 2,500 assemblies every month and is a world leader in design and manufacture of high lift devices, complex mechanical assemblies and major functional components for the aerospace industry. ASCO has an international customer base of major OEM and Tier-1 suppliers and is present on a wide range of commercial and military aircraft platforms. /p pASCO is part of the Montana Aerospace group since April 2022. Montana Aerospace, headquartered in Switzerland and listed on the Zürich stock exchange, is a highly‑vertically integrated leading manufacturer and supplier of system components and complex assemblies for the aerospace, e‑mobility and energy sectors with worldwide engineering and manufacturing operation. /p h3Roles and Responsibilities /h3 pThe Technical Advisor will study, test, configure, implement and document (via best practices, guidelines or procedures) technical tools and processes related to the machining and fixture design activities. He/she will work on improvement of business processes related to the machining and fixture design activities. He/she will also coach and train the users inside the company. Additionally, when there is a need within the ME teams, the technical advisor may spend some of his time doing engineering work within a project team within his/her field of expertise. /p pProactively develop, improve, test, configure, implement and document solutions and tools in his/her fields of expertise to make the users more efficient and/or anticipate the new demand from their customers. /p ul liFollow up new developments on the market, request and attend trainings as required, attend forums as required. /li liAnalyse request of improvements made by the users. /li liBe in contact with suppliers for specific improvement projects. /li liWork on standardization of our equipment. /li liSupport in RD projects. /li liPro‑actively make suggestion of improvements to the N+1. /li /ul h3User Support /h3 pCoach and train the users by acting as focal point for technical issues with the solutions in Machining / Fixture Design and by providing associated procedures. /p ul liCoach/Train on‑site and offshore personnel to the new features. /li liActively help users in resolution of problems with solutions in his fields of expertise. /li liUpdate/Create procedures as required. /li liCreate standard documents to capitalize technical experience. /li /ul h3Departmental Company Support /h3 pWhen requested, the technical advisor will be part of project team as Manufacturing Engineer within his/her field of expertise. /p pHe/she also actively helps other departments/plants in order to share best practices across ASCO group. /p ul liBe the focal point for other departments/sites when knowledge in his/her fields of expertise is necessary. /li liActively help the organisation on technical knowledge in his/her fields of expertise in case of new investments. /li liActively help Operations to resolve manufacturing and/or CNC machines problems (e.g. Quality Clinics, cross departmental meetings). /li liProvide process definition and estimations to Bidding team in his/her fields of expertise (RC, NRC and investment when applicable). /li liActively help the CAPEX team to set and validate the requirements in his/her fields of expertise for a new investment. /li liBe in contact with suppliers for specific improvement projects. /li liTake actively part of technical team on new or complex technologies projects in his/her fields of expertise (e.g. Engineering projects). His/her responsibilities are, in this case, the same as an engineer in his/her fields of expertise inside a project team. /li liBe a first player in concurrent engineering. /li /ul h3Represents the Department /h3 pRepresent technically the department at a customer or subcontractor, during visits and tests at supplier. /p h3Profile, Knowledge and Experience /h3 pbEducation /b Master in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent by experience /p pbLanguages /b Is capable to communicate (speak, read and write) in French, Dutch and English. /p h3Skills / Experience /h3 ul liAt least 7 years of relevant experience in his/her field of expertise /li liStrong knowledge industrial manufacturing: milling techniques, CNC machines controllers, kinematics and geometry /li liTechnical experience in cutting tools is required /li liKnowledge of Industrial design on 3D and 2D drawings. /li liHelicopter view and good knowledge on ME and Production processes /li liCapable of self‑learning, Eager to learn /li liInterest in developing new methods and improving existing techniques /li liIndependent, proactive, and have an eye for detail and a structure way of working /li liStrong structured analytical skills to think about solutions impact and risks /li liLogical Thinking skills (Problem‑solving, Critical thinking, Creativity, Reasoning) /li liGood coaching/training skills of colleagues /li liManagement skills to lead a small technical team /li liMS office experience required (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, SharePoint, …) /li liGeneral IT infrastructure knowledge /li liGeneral software programming skills is preferable (Visual Basic, MATLAB, …) /li liOpen to travel for short missions (1‑2 weeks) /li li3Dexperience, CATIA V5 and 3D Composer is required /li /ul h3Our Offer /h3 pASCO offers a position in an innovative high‑tech environment, using cutting‑edge technologies, with a unique training policy and opportunities to develop yourself.
