Legal Counsel
Purpose of the job:
To ensure that the GC Europe organization including its affiliates in the DACH region complies with all applicable national and European legal requirements and to act as a first point of contact for all GC Europe AG companies in legal affairs.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Independently provide legal advice to questions related to different legal aspects (civil law, labor law, and others) submitted from the GC Europe AG (Switzerland) affiliates in the DACH region and from other entities of the GC Europe AG organization.
2. Draft, negotiate, verify, implement and manage contracts and/or legal documents between the relevant GC company and third parties to avoid or mitigate legal risks.
3. Establish a legal framework for and contribute to new projects at GC Europe NV and/or the DACH region to ensure legally correct implementation.
4. Ensure compliance with data privacy, anti-bribery and other rules, regulations or policies within the organization, mainly in the DACH region.
5. Exchange information, consult, hold meetings and negotiate with insurance offices, official bodies such as ministries, authorities, consultants, lawyers, notaries and all other third parties as a legal point of contact for the DACH region of the GC Europe AG organization.
6. Ensure you are well informed about the developments within the legislative framework, change and implement new legislation to guarantee the correct anticipation and application of it within the organization.
Requirements:
7. Academic Degree from a University in Germany, Austria or Switzerland
8. At least 2 years of experience (in an international environment and/or in the life sciences industry considered a plus)
9. Fluent English and German
10. Independent self-starter but also a team-player
11. Excellent communication and organizational skills as well as attention to detail
12. Good level of MS Office tools
