We're looking for a Financial Controller who's ready to own the numbers, sharpen our reporting, and help build the financial backbone of a scaling tech company. ?? This isn't a tick-the-box finance job: no routines, no managing teams, no bumping into rigid structures but rather exploring different domains, taking ownership over improvements and working as a strong, complementary unit!Who we are Sensolus is a Belgian IoT scale-up, building asset tracking solutions for logistics and industrial companies (think Airbus, ABInBev, DHL). Today we are a team of around 60 people, operating internationally with customers all over the world. ??Our finance team is deliberately lean, hands-on and ambitious. You'll work closely with our CFO and Finance Accountant and combine deep technical accounting with hands-on operational finance and genuinely make an impact from day one. ??What you'll do In this role you will combine technical accounting ownership, financial reporting, and operational finance responsibilities in a small but ambitious finance team.We're a lean team, which means you'll get hands-on with a broad range of topics:?? Accounting & ClosingDrive the monthly closing process together with our Financial AccountantOwn BEGAAP accounting from A to Z (you're the expert in the room!)Review VAT returns and keep us on the right side of Belgian tax obligationsSupport preparation of annual accounts and corporate tax filingsLead audit preparation and make sure we're always ready??International FinanceBe the finance point of contact for our US subsidiary, Sensolus Inc.Coordinate with external accountants in the United StatesSupport group consolidation between Belgium and the US entityEnsure intercompany accounting is clean and well-documented??Financial ReportingSupport the CFO with monthly management reporting that actually tells a storyMake sure our financial data ties seamlessly to key SaaS metrics (ARR, margins, and more)??Operational FinanceInsurance administration together with our brokerSubsidy administration and reportingFleet administration in collaboration with HRFinancial aspects of HR processes (payroll review, warrant schemes, etc.)??External StakeholdersBuild and maintain strong relationships with auditors, tax advisors, banks, and subsidy agenciesKeep our external compliance processes running smoothly??Process ImprovementSpot inefficiencies and take ownership in fixing them (#worksmarternotharder)Help automate KPI reporting and accounting workflows as we scaleWho you are You have a solid accounting foundation, a pragmatic mindset, and you thrive when you're given real ownership. You don't wait to be told what needs fixing because you see it and you act. You probably:Have 4–8 years of experience in an in-house finance role, or came up through audit and made the move to industryKnow BEGAAP accounting inside outAre comfortable with VAT, annual accounts, and Belgian tax complianceHave some exposure to international accounting environmentsHave a basic handle on consolidation and intercompany accountingLove working in a hands-on environment where no two days look exactly the sameAre structured, reliable, and detail-oriented (without being rigid)Communicate fluently in Dutch and EnglishHave experience with Exact Online, Teamleader, or similar toolsWhat we offer ??
