Our client, active in the Automotive Industry and located in the Flemish Brabant has more than 200 Engineers and colleagues working on the development, testing, prototyping and production of high-technology transmission systems and subsystems for high-performance top-of-the-line vehicles and sports cars!
To strengthen our customer's development towards hybridized and electric drive solutions, we are looking to reinforce the Controls Engineering team with a Power Electronics Development Engineer.
As a passionate technical expert in Power Electronics, you play a key role in building and maintaining the engineering teams core knowledge in the field of Power-Electronics.
You are, with the team, responsible for the selection, integration, application, and validation of the power electronics of e-motors as part of our electric and hybrid transmission technologies, taking care of all safety requirements related to the high-voltage electronics. As model-based control methods are core to our driveline controls technology, you support the development of advanced motor control strategies with fundamental knowledge of power electronics, e-motors, and their control methods.
Profile / Requirements :
Key Responsibilities:
• Design automotive power stage electronics (invertors/DCDC convertors/…) and related logic or guides & challenge suppliers taking up these design tasks.
• Perform the analysis (e.g. FMEA, FMEDA, FTA, ...), verification, issue resolution and validation (e.g. EMC and environmental) during the development phase.
• Support the integration of the power electronics on the vehicle considering all aspects (thermal/EMC/performance/...).
• Support definition of requirements and architecture of the power electronics for our electrified projects.
• Are focal point for power electronics technical discussions with cross-competency teams and customers and cooperate with suppliers on finding optimum solutions.
• Explore the market for e-motors and their power electronics concept, performance & reliability.
• Support simulation of vehicle power requirements based upon the e-motor concept.
• Contribute to the development of advanced and model-based control methods
