The Role
We are looking for a full-time remote Shopify Web Designer who thrives at the intersection of design, UX, and e-commerce performance. This is not a traditional design role—we’re looking for someone who understands how design decisions directly impact conversion, retention, and revenue.
As a Shopify Web Designer at Step Labs, you’ll:
* Design, prototype, and deliver conversion-optimized Shopify storefronts in Figma and Shopify.
* Collaborate with our CRO strategists, developers, and account managers to bring data-driven design changes to life.
* Translate test hypotheses, user research, and customer insights into high-quality UX/UI designs that align with brand identity.
* Work on landing pages, PDPs, mega menus, checkout flows, and post-purchase experiences, ensuring every design contributes to revenue growth.
* Create graphics and brand assets that elevate the shopping experience while maintaining brand consistency.
* Support the team in delivering weekly split-tests and design iterations that drive measurable ROI for clients.
Qualifications
We’re looking for someone who combines creative excellence with an analytical, results-oriented mindset:
* Core Skills
* Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator)
* Strong understanding of Shopify design principles and e-commerce UX best practices
* Ability to design responsive, conversion-focused layouts
* Familiarity with front-end development (HTML/CSS) to work effectively with developers
* Experience
* Prior experience designing for Shopify stores (agency or brand-side)
* Proven ability to create designs that have directly contributed to conversion uplift or measurable business outcomes
* Experience with user research, analytics tools, or A/B testing (preferred)
* Personal Qualities
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a remote team environment
* Self-starter with the ability to manage deadlines across multiple projects
* Strong problem-solving and adaptability to changing project requirements
* Fluent in English
* Bonus Points
* Background in CRO, UX research, or digital marketing
* Experience with tools like Hotjar, Clarity, or Google Optimize
* Bachelor’s degree in Web/Graphic Design or related field
