Purpose of the position:
The HR Manager is part of the management team of the respective country/business unit. Responsible for a good, effective and efficient execution of all HR related matters within the country/scope. Translating group HR policies and instruments into local execution in close cooperation with local management. The HR Manager leads the HR team that consists of HR specialists and team leads.
Responsibilities:
Policy/Strategy
* Develops and implement the HR strategy for the country/business unit. Anticipating complex issues, challenges, and opportunities, and ensures integration with wider group HR strategy
* Develop a policy framework for the country/business unit, and oversee its implementation
* Supports the development and growth of the business and make sure it is ready for an increase in number of employees
* Translates the Group HR strategy into local HR policies and instruments and realizes highly effective execution of these policies within the country/business unit
* Contributes to the development and implementation of the Group's HR strategy, policies and instruments
Human Resources
* Social legal relations: responsible for developing the long term approach and the way to manage those
* Talent pipeline management/ succession planning/career paths and most optimal execution of training & learning in the country/business unit
* Recruitment and employer branding: overall responsible for the recruitment (stores and CO) and developing new paths (apprenticeships, students,…)
* Health & safety, social responsibility
* Dotted line to the country payroll services
* Management of HR KPI
Operational Management
* Initiates, plans, implements and coordinates HR related activities and projects for the country/business unit and ensures proper introduction and implementation of changes in the organization
* Ensures that the HR department supports the business with all HR related queries, and acts as a first point of contact for senior management on HR policy issues and strategic and tactical questions, informs them on new developments and identifies trends
* Coordinates and executes recruitment activities to fulfill current and future vacancies
* Develops, implements and executes local policies on absence to realize a low sickness leave percentage
* Is responsible for the effective execution of local personnel administration
People Management
* Manages the team of local HR experts and team leads (e.g. recruitment and employer branding, social relations, health and safety)
* Gives direct and constructive feedback about the delivered performance and personal developments related to future requirements and priorities; Acts as a mentor or coach with the objective to develop the skills and competences of the employee
* Stimulates employees to join in on the thought process and to actively contribute to the development of new ideas and to learn from his/her own experiences and those of others
* Creates a work environment in which employees are continuously stimulated to develop themselves and to improve their performance
* Responsible for an optimal staffing, recruitment activities and employees retention within the department
Requirements:
* At least 6-10 years of working experience of which at least 5 in a management role
* Experience in similar field such as Retail, Telecommunications, or Call Centers
* Strong experience with project management and HR compliance and procedures
* Strong experience working with Unions
* Experience on Belgian market
* Fluency in Dutch, French & English
