Position Overview
This position will be instrumental in analyzing electricity markets, developing forecasting models, and providing strategic insights that will optimize revenue and guide business decisions. The role requires a combination of technical modeling skills, market knowledge, and the ability to collaborate across departments to support both existing assets and new opportunities, with a special focus on hybrid and storage projects.
Responsibilities
* Create, refine, and update revenue forecasting models for standalone battery storage projects as well as hybrid renewable assets.
* Carry out detailed studies of international power markets, focusing on pricing trends, contract mechanisms, revenue sources, and settlement processes.
* Keep track of global regulatory changes and technological developments that may influence market dynamics.
* Manage relationships with external market advisors and critically review their assumptions.
* Perform risk evaluations and scenario analyses to support new investments and assess potential impacts on the current portfolio.
* Design strategies for market participation and energy trading for both hybrid systems and standalone storage assets.
* Work closely with different internal departments to enhance the performance of models and maximize asset returns.
* Deliver insights based on data analysis to assist senior leadership with strategic decision-making.
Who are you?
* Strong understanding of international energy markets and the factors that influence them.
* Experience in techno-economic modeling, mathematical optimization, and financial analysis.
* Excellent command of MS Office (Excel, VBA) for advanced analysis and reporting.
* Skilled in Python or MATLAB for data handling, modeling, and optimization.
* Effective communicator with a proactive approach to working in cross-disciplinary teams.
* Structured, analytical, and able to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
* Strong organizational abilities with great attention to detail.
* Degree in Energy, Engineering, Renewable Energies, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, or a related discipline (Bachelor’s or Master’s level).
* Fluent in English.
* Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in the renewable energy industry.
* Availability to work in Seville.
