As a Backend Developer, you will strengthen the backend services of a broker-facing portal in an enterprise environment. You will work on cloud-native, serverless applications built on Microsoft Azure, contributing to scalable, secure, and well-tested backend solutions. The role combines hands-on development with collaboration in an agile delivery team.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain backend services using .NET (C#) in a cloud-native Azure environment
Build and operate serverless applications using Azure Functions and Azure Container Apps
Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines across multiple environments
Integrate backend services with external systems using SOAP and REST APIs
Manage secrets and sensitive configuration using Azure Key Vault
Optimize data storage and retrieval using Cosmos DB and Redis Cache
Write unit tests and apply test-driven development practices to ensure code quality
Support analysts and designers by translating functional requirements into technical solutions
Provide third-line support and contribute to technical documentation
What are we looking for?
You have 5+ years of experience as a backend or integration developer in a .NET environment
You bring strong hands-on experience with C# and Microsoft .NET on Azure
You have experience building and consuming SOAP and REST services
You have worked with Azure Functions and cloud-hosted backend services
You have experience with CI/CD pipelines, preferably in an Azure DevOps environment
You are comfortable working with Cosmos DB and understand NoSQL data modeling concepts
You apply unit testing and test-driven development in your daily work
You are fluent in Dutch and English, both spoken and written
Nice to Haves
Experience with Redis Cache for performance optimization
Familiarity with OAuth and authentication mechanisms
Experience managing secrets with Azure Key Vault
Exposure to Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform)
Experience with Azure Container Apps
Azure certification (e.g. AZ-204)
Domain experience in insurance or financial services
