Under the legal direction of the Quick Group (based in France), and as part of the brand's international development, the (Senior) Legal Counsel Belgium will advise and support teams regarding the legal security of the company's operations: commercial contracts, master franchise agreements, and ensure the protection and enhancement of the company's brand portfolio.
The role includes the following responsibilities:
Business Law & Contracts
Drafting and monitoring franchise and master franchise agreements
Analyzing, drafting, and negotiating commercial contracts, partnership agreements, and conventions
Ensuring legal security of various contracts and proposing solutions
Providing legal support and advice to operational departments (IP, contracts, distribution, competition, marketing, development)
Corporate Law
Drafting legal documentation related to management decisions and regular/special activities of the Belgian subsidiary (general meetings, board meetings, written consultations, etc.)
Managing regular and exceptional corporate secretarial duties
Handling and monitoring legal formalities for the subsidiary
Maintaining and updating legal documentation (registers, statutes, etc.)
Developing, protecting, defending, and enhancing the brand portfolio with support from partner law firms (priority searches, filings, monitoring, renewals)
Analyzing and drafting IP‐related contracts (brand license agreements, coexistence agreements, NDAs)
Managing pre‐litigation matters (risk assessment, case preparation, opposition files, drafting cease‐and‐desist letters, responses to offices, settlement agreements) and overseeing litigation procedures (counterfeiting, parasitism, unfair competition)
Insurance Law
Supporting cost/coverage optimization and contract management for the Group's insurance policies
Launching tenders, participating in negotiations, and implementing new insurance contracts for all Group entities
Monitoring insurance contracts, annual reviews, negotiations, and claims management
Profile
Do you have a Master's in Belgian law and 5+ years' experience in a company or law firm specializing in business law? Other requirements:
Strong knowledge of commercial law, especially franchise law
Autonomous with strong adaptability
Analytical and synthesis skills
Known for responsiveness, rigor, discretion, and organizational skills
Excellent command of French, Dutch (one as native language), and English
