Job Introduction

Based in Zeebrugge, we provide daily maintenance, scheduled overhauls and urgent repairs for Belgian and Dutch naval fleets, with a special focus on minehunters. We are looking for a Maritime Superintendent Workshop, to join the team at our Zeebrugge site!

Main Responsibilities

The Shipping Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the execution of the maintenance and/or project on a vessel.. They play a crucial role in ensuring that services/projects related to vessels are delivered efficiently and on time to the client, while also optimizing costs and ensuring quality of excecution. The Shipping Manager collaborates closely with various internal and external teams, including workshop managers/personnel, client,… to ensure a seamless flow of our services from the reception of workorder to the final deliverable(s).

Key accountabilities:

4. Develop and implement effective procedures & strategies to meet client service objectives and company goals. Therefore, should ensure a daily follow-up of the maintenance work carried out on board of the vessels through continuous consultation with workshop managers.
5. Coordinate and manage/plan the shipment execution of of a specific named maintenance (KO + GO + IO).
6. Collaborate with Workshop Managers on the workforce planning to ensure timely order fulfilment and accurate delivery.
7. Monitor, track and distribute workorders for project activities with the respective Workshop Managers. In addition, providing regular updates to internal and external stakeholders and resolving any issues that may arise.
8. Create, negotiate and follow-up on the workorders (WO). Identify and follow-up on the additional work orders (MR) + Opdef-work orders (OD) + assistance to ship work orders (BA).
9. Implement and maintain efficient work orders management and lean processes, ensuring a correct follow-up procedure in regards to the maintenance planning:Test Before Maintenance (TBM)Project Execution Plan (PUP)Setting To Work + Harbour Acceptance Trials (STW/HAT)Control of Material Seaworthiness protocol lists (MZWH)Follow-up of Sea Acceptance Trial-tests (SAT)
10. Attend and follow up on weekly Project consultation meetings + Toolbox meetings and collaborate, providing guidance and support, the local teams and the Workshop Managers.

Key skills

11. Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
12. Strong attention to detail and accuracy, ensuring that all workorders are followed-up correctly towards an excellent delivery.
13. Knowledge and experience in project coordination.
14. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
15. Problem-solving and decision-making abilities to quickly resolve workorders issues and make informed decisions.
16. Management skills to motivate and collaborate with internal colleagues and external key stakeholders.
17. Identifying areas for improvement.
18. 100% Office based role; telework is structurally not possible.

Preferred

19. Bachelor's degree in technical and/or maritime area.
20. Proven experience in technical and/or maritime area, preferably in a supervisory role.
21. Good communicator in NL – FR – ENG.
22. Problem solving mindset and able to think out of the box Proficiency in office software (e.g., MS Office, MS Project).
23. Driver’s licence B
