Operations Engineer (Observability & IT Monitoring)
Hybrid - 3 days per week on-site
My client, a major European institution, is seeking an experienced IT Monitoring & Observability Engineer to strengthen its central Operations Centre in Brussels.
This position blends operational excellence, architecture input, tooling expertise, and performance optimisation within a structured ITIL environment.
Responsibilities
* Operate, maintain, and enhance enterprise‑level IT monitoring and observability platforms
* Implement and optimise APM, log management, and performance monitoring solutions
* Support microservices, containerised workloads, and cloud‑based applications
* Analyse performance, capacity, and fault trends to drive service improvements
* Collaborate with infrastructure, network, and application teams
* Provide L1/L2 operational support within a centralised Operations Centre
* Produce dashboards, metrics, and reporting for stakeholders
* Contribute to AIOps, automation, and continuous service optimisation initiatives
Expertise
* Log Management / Data Monitoring / AI & ML
* Application Performance Monitoring (APM)
* Microservices & container architecture
* Cloud applications & services
* DevOps, AIOps, ITIL methodologies
* Network infrastructure: LAN, WAN, firewalls, DNS, proxies
* Data centre infrastructure: VMs, storage, servers
* Hands‑on experience with:
* AppDynamics
* Dynatrace
* Icinga
* Splunk
* IT Monitoring & Log Management in a centralised Ops Centre
* Infrastructure performance (fault, capacity, security)
* L1/L2 IT Support
* Data mining, metrics, reporting
* Customer‑facing IT service delivery
* Strong technical depth across monitoring, observability, and infrastructure
* Ability to operate in high‑availability, mission‑critical environments
* Analytical mindset with a focus on reliability and performance
* Clear communication skills and stakeholder awareness
* EU citizenship (mandatory for security clearance)
