Newsroom Product & Audience Manager (Mid‑Level)
— a hybrid role at the intersection of digital publishing, audience development, analytics, and newsroom tooling.
Role Purpose
The
Newsroom Product & Audience Manager
plays a central role in ensuring that Euractiv's journalism reaches and engages its core audiences. This position combines audience development, editorial product optimisation, data-informed publishing, and newsroom workflow support, informed publishing, and newsroom workflow support.
You will work closely with editors, product development, marketing, and data teams to improve the visibility, performance, and structure of content across all platforms. Key Areas of Responsibility
* Digital Publishing & Editorial Product
* Shape and refine homepage and section-page layouts with editors, ensuring strong navigability and a clear content hierarchy for both professional and open-access audiences.
* Manage re-circulation elements such as related stories, automated blocks, and curated lists.
* Oversee page structure templates and assist in improving the overall site experience (mobile-first, accessibility, layout consistency).
* Act as a confident CMS power user: support colleagues, optimise templates, and help develop new editorial product features in collaboration with product/tech teams.
* Channel Management & Distribution
* Manage newsletter operations as a super-user: scheduling, template optimisation, A/B testing, and performance tracking.
* Oversee social media distribution, including planning, posting, and community management.
* Apply SEO and GEO best practices (headline optimisation, metadata refinement, internal linking, search friendly structure).friendly structure).
* Collaborate with marketing on audience targeted campaigns (topic hubs, election coverage, blog series, etc.).targeted campaigns (topic hubs, election coverage, blog series, etc.).
* Metadata & Tagging (Tagging Governance)
* Maintain and evolve a clear and efficient or automated tagging strategy ("Tagmeister" function).
* Train editors in consistent tagging and ensure strong metadata quality across the CMS.
* Introduce new metadata fields where needed to improve content repurposing, topic hubs, and automated feeds.
* Data, Analytics & Insight Adoption
* Monitor newsroom analytics dashboards and ensure widespread use of data for content decisions.
* Translate performance insights into actionable recommendations for editors.
* Build and improve custom dashboards (with the data team) to analyse story performance across key variables.
* Track KPIs such as pages per session, engagement time, newsletter open rate, and recirculation success.
* Tools, Workflow & AI Enablement
* Help roll out new digital tools, workflows, and AI-enabled features (SEO headline tools, transcription, document monitoring, text-to-speech, news search, etc.).tospeech, news search, etc.).
* Support seamless adoption across the newsroom, ensuring tools integrate smoothly into daily routines.

* Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve editorial efficiency via automation or process improvements.
Experience
Required Profile
* 3–6 years' experience in digital publishing, audience development, newsroom product, or a similar hybrid editorial–technology environment.
* Demonstrated experience with CMS systems, SEO, analytics dashboards (e.g., Google Analytics, Chartbeat, Looker Studio), and cross platform content distribution, platform content distribution.

* Strong understanding of editorial workflows and digital audience behaviour.
