In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.
Your role and responsibilities
The Application Developer – Web Content Management (WCM) is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining web-based applications and content management solutions that enable efficient creation, management, and delivery of digital content. This role focuses on integrating CMS platforms with enterprise systems, optimizing user experience, and ensuring scalable, secure, and high-performing web solutions.
* Design, develop, and maintain web applications and CMS-based solutions (e.g., Adobe Experience Manager, Sitecore, WordPress, Drupal).
* Collaborate with UX/UI designers, content teams, and business stakeholders to deliver engaging digital experiences.
* Customize and extend CMS platforms using APIs, plugins, and custom modules .
* Ensure content workflows, templates, and components are properly implemented and optimized.
* Integrate CMS with enterprise systems such as CRM, marketing tools, and APIs.
* Monitor and improve website performance, responsiveness, and SEO compliance .
* Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to content delivery and platform stability .
* Apply security best practices and ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
* Support deployment processes using CI/CD pipelines and version control tools (Git) .
* Stay updated on emerging WCM trends, technologies, and best practices .
Required education
Bachelor's Degree
Required technical and professional expertise
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field .
* Experience with at least one major CMS platform (AEM, Drupal, Sitecore, etc.).
* Strong proficiency in:
o HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript
o Front-end frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue.js)
o Backend technologies (Java, .NET, Node.js, or PHP)
* Experience working with RESTful APIs and integrations .
* Knowledge of web security, accessibility (WCAG), and SEO best practices .
* Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) is a plus.
* Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies .
Preferred technical and professional experience
* Familiarity with Multiple CMS: Exposure to multiple Content Management Systems, including Sitecore, Drupal, Optimizely, Wordpress, Contentful, and Bloomreach, is beneficial for this role.
* Cross-Platform Development: Experience working with different platforms and ensuring CMS system compatibility is a plus.
* Workflow and Template Design: Knowledge of creating efficient workflows and templates for CMS systems is desirable.
