For a Belgian infrastructure customer, we are searching for a freelance Legal Counsel to act as the Business Partner for different Business Unit activities predominantly at their sites in East and West Flanders .
You will work closely with an operational director and support the organization on a wide range of legal topics in collaboration with your colleagues. You combine advisory services, contract and risk management, and process optimization with a pragmatic and solution-oriented approach.
Responsibilities
* You advise the business on diverse legal issues and manage complex cases within various legal domains.
* You review, negotiate, and draft contracts with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
* You monitor the entire onboarding and offboarding process for subcontractors.
* You monitor relevant developments in national legislation and regulations (corporate law, contract law, employment and social law etc.) and translate these into concrete advice.
* You safeguard legal risks within the business units and ensure the correct follow-up of internal processes.
* You support the Board of Directors and management during negotiations and help them translate complex legal matters into practice.
Profile
* You hold a Master's degree in Law (preference).
* You have at least 5 – 7 years of relevant experience.
* You are analytical, critical, accurate, and able to work in a project-oriented manner.
* Experience in the construction or infrastructure sector or a background at the bar is a plus.
* You communicate clearly, are skilled in negotiation, and know how to build trust.
* You work independently but function equally well in a team.
* You enjoy taking initiative and attach great importance to quality and customer focus.
