Telenet is looking for a Procurement Category Lead – IT
As a Category Lead you will drive the development and execution of the sourcing and purchase strategies for IT, used to deliver products and services to our Telenet customers. You will contribute to the design and implementation of the overall business strategies and long-term objectives and can be responsible for the management and development of employees in the team.
Working in the Procurement team

As part of Telenet’s Finance organization the Procurement mission is to procure the best quality and value products and services from both new and existing suppliers. These suppliers may be large scale international partners or small local start-ups, we always look for the best solution for our customers.
Working with affiliates and with our mother company Liberty Global we share best practices and leverage knowledge and volume. We bring value to our business stakeholders by working closely with both suppliers and our internal colleagues from legal, financial controlling and other departments.
As a Procurement Category Lead; can you help our stakeholders get the most from their budget in a dynamic technology sector and challenging market environment?
Your tasks as a Procurement Category Lead
As a Procurement Category Lead, you will help source and contract the products and services needed to support Telenet's long-term IT vision and strategy. You will join the Procurement & Supply Chain Tribe within the Finance Circle where you will be responsible for:
1. Developing and implementing supply and purchasing strategy within our scope of IT products and services, taking into account the impact on our own organization and market evolutions (e.g. generative AI)
2. Balancing stakeholder value in terms of price and quality whilst following Procurement policies and procedures including Telenet’s ESG objectives.
3. Being end-to-end responsible for contract and Supplier Relationship Management, negotiating creative commercial proposals and business development initiatives with an eye on the total cost of ownership.
4. Leading, coaching, motivating and developing colleagues in the team and our wider community.

Our ideal Procurement Category Lead...
12. Has experience with purchasing management in an international environment including people management and procurement strategy development for IT scope.
13. Has a deep understanding of contract management, procurement concepts, spending and market analyses, financial analyses and savings calculations.
14. Has a good knowledge of standard legal terms & conditions including (Belgian) legislation, SOX rules, GDPR and business ethics in order to identify and mitigate risks.
15. Is able to quickly adapt to build stakeholder relationships and understand technical requirements.
16. Can interact with suppliers and act as SPOC for negotiating, managing and optimizing supplier relationships.
17. Has a Bachelor or Master degree and 5-7 years of relevant experience
18. Is a proactive self-starter with strong analytical and communication skills
19. Speaks English, possibly also Dutch and/or French.
