About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Interim CFO to join the executive team of our client in Brussels to provide strategic financial leadership and operational oversight during a period of transition. The Interim CFO will play a key role in stabilizing and optimizing financial processes, guiding the company through reporting cycles, managing cash flow, and supporting strategic decision‑making at the highest level.
This is a hands‑on leadership role, ideal for a seasoned finance professional with strong business acumen, excellent stakeholder management skills, and the ability to deliver under tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
* Strategic Financial Leadership
* Advise the CEO and Board on financial strategy, risk management, and long‑term planning.
* Contribute to business transformation initiatives and organizational restructuring, if applicable.
* Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
* Oversee financial reporting (internal & external) and ensure compliance with Belgian GAAP / IFRS.
* Manage relationships with external auditors, banks, tax advisors, and other financial partners.
* Cash Flow & Working Capital
* Monitor and manage the company’s cash position, ensuring liquidity and cost control.
* Optimize working capital and oversee treasury operations.
* Lead and support the finance team, ensuring continuity, knowledge transfer, and high performance.
* Provide mentorship and guidance to the finance staff during the transition period.
* Process Improvement & Systems
* Identify opportunities for process improvement and enhanced financial reporting.
* Oversee implementation of new tools or systems, if required.
Qualifications & Experience
* Proven experience as a CFO or senior finance executive, ideally in an interim or transformation context.
* Strong knowledge of Belgian accounting standards, tax regulations, and corporate law.
* Experience in both strategic planning and hands‑on financial operations.
* Track record in managing complex stakeholder environments.
* Fluent in English; proficiency in French and/or Dutch is a strong asset.
* Professional qualifications such as CPA, ACCA, or equivalent are preferred.

* Location: On‑site in Brussels, with some flexibility for remote work
* Compensation: Competitive daily rate, based on experience
