Our client is a global materials technology and recycling group, committed to developing sustainable solutions for clean mobility and recycling. The Olen site is a key production facility within the Cobalt & Specialty Materials (CSM) Business Unit.
Department Description and Responsibilities
The Maintenance Engineering Department at CSM Olen is responsible for ensuring the reliability and optimal performance of production equipment and installations. The team focuses on improving machine reliability, optimising preventive maintenance plans, and supporting new projects with robust engineering practices.
Project Description
Due to internal role changes, one of the current reliability engineers will transition to a new position. To maintain continuity, we are seeking an external Reliability Engineer on a temporary, part-time basis (0.5 to 0.8 FTE – negotiable).
The assignment will start in early 2026 and is expected to last 6–12 months, until an internal candidate if selected.
Primary Tasks and Responsibilities
• Investigate machine failures (Root Cause Analysis) and develop proposals to reduce downtime.
• Analyse technical issues and propose effective solutions.
• Create and optimise preventive maintenance plans.
• Prepare and execute Reliability-Centred Maintenance (RCM) exercises for new projects.
• Define spare parts requirements for critical equipment.
• Draft documentation for testing safety-critical components.
• Potentially take on additional day-to-day tasks after onboarding.
Technical Profile Requirements
• Master’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
• 5–7 years of experience in maintenance/reliability engineering, preferably in the process industry.
• Strong technical knowledge in electromechanics (hydraulics, pneumatics, electricity).
• Familiarity with maintenance techniques and basic knowledge of materials.
• Proficient in SAP-PM and maintenance workflows (e.g., work order management).
Non-Technical Profile Requirements
• Analytical, enthusiastic, and results-driven.
• Strong sense of responsibility and perseverance.
• Team player with excellent communication skills and the ability to work across all organisational levels.
• Flexible and capable of working independently.
Methodology/Certification Requirements
• Experience with RCA and RCM methodologies.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and compliance standards.
Language Proficiencies
• Fluent in Dutch and English.

Contract
• Part-time assignment (0.5 to 0.8 FTE – negotiable).
• Start date: early 2026.
• Duration: approximately 6–12 months.
• Interview process: first interview via Teams, second interview onsite.
