You''ll be responsible for ensuringfinancial control and data accuracy, overseeing the full accountingclose cycle (BGAAP and IFRS), and upholding the quality standardsand policies that define bpost Group''s success. This role is key toensuring compliance with all relevant accounting laws andregulations while helping shape the future of our accountingfunction. a. Lead, coach, and motivate the General Accountingdepartment team for which he/she is responsible, to leverage andoptimally develop their skills, abilities, and expertise, and toensure the smooth operation of the department. b. Supervise thetechnical closing of modules within the various accountingapplications used by performing appropriate checks to ensureaccuracy and completeness during the closing process. Ensure alldeadlines are met. c. Coordinate the accounting closing activities(monthly, annual) for the subsidiary (or subsidiaries): Ensurethe accounting closure for BGAAP and IFRS is completed on time, infull compliance with bpost Group''s internal quality standards,policies, and external accounting laws and regulations. Overseethe preparation of annual accounts for submission to the NationalBank of Belgium (for subsidiaries based in Belgium). Coordinateinternal audits and ensure the completion of external audits. Address ad hoc accounting inquiries. Ensure financial control andthe reliability of accounting data. Actively participate in thecomprehensive analysis of the company''s results. d. Ensurefinancial control and the reliability of accounting data byestablishing an account reconciliation process: Challenge andcoach team members responsible for account reconciliation. Reportaccount reconciliation findings to management and oversee actionplans. e. Internal Control: Develop a framework to ensure thatreported data is complete and accurate: Develop accounting rulesand procedures. Oversee, monitor, and approve accounting entries. Implement internal control tools to validate data within andacross systems (data reconciliation and justification).
