Join our client's Agile transformation journey as a Freelance IT Developer, specializing in Java back-end development. You'll be at the heart of digital innovation for enterprise banking, helping to shape the entry point for business clients at Belgium's largest business bank. What You'll Be Doing
* Translating business requirements into high-quality, maintainable code
* Designing, building, and maintaining high-performance, reusable, and reliable Java applications using the Spring Framework
* Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver new features end-to-end, including both backend and frontend (mobile app) components
* Integrating with external data sources and APIs
* Ensuring optimal performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
* Applying development best practices, including clean code principles and refactoring
* Identifying and resolving bottlenecks and bugs
* Participating in DevOps activities, including CI/CD pipeline setup and maintenance
* Contributing to API automation testing as part of your development workflow
* Actively sharing knowledge and suggesting improvements to squad members
* Adapting to new colleagues and fostering a collaborative, feedback-driven environment
* Challenging requirements constructively based on your technical expertise
Technical Skills
* Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in software development
* Expertise in Java and Spring Framework
* Strong understanding of object-oriented principles, DDD, design patterns, and SOLID principles
* Proven experience with Maven, relational databases, and RESTful APIs (Swagger/YAML)
* Proficiency with version control systems (Git)
* Hands-on experience with Continuous Integration/Deployment (Jenkins or alternatives)
* Familiarity with SAST tools (SonarQube, Fortify, NexusIQ or similar)
* Knowledge of Docker, containerization, and Groovy scripting
* Practical experience with Test Driven Development (TDD) and API automation testing
* Willingness to pair program and participate in code reviews
* Nice to have: Experience with React and
Language Proficiency
* Fluent English required
* Knowledge of French or Dutch is a plus

* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
