Job DescriptionWe are looking for a skilled Network Security Engineer to join our IT security team in Brussels. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure network infrastructures, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our systems.
Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, deploy, and maintain secure network architectures (LAN, WAN, VPN, cloud)Configure and manage firewalls, IDS/IPS, proxies, and network security toolsMonitor network traffic and investigate security incidentsPerform vulnerability assessments, risk analyses, and remediation activitiesImplement security best practices and ensure compliance with internal policies and regulationsMaintain documentation, procedures, and network diagramsParticipate in incident response and on-call rotations when required
Required QualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent experienceProven experience as a Network Security Engineer or similar roleStrong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, and network protocolsHands-on experience with firewalls (e.g. Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco), VPNs, and network segmentationExperience with security monitoring and incident responseFluent Dutch (spoken and written) – mandatoryGood working knowledge of English
Nice to HaveCertifications such as CCNP Security, CISSP, CISM, or equivalentExperience with cloud security (Azure, AWS, or GCP)Knowledge of Zero Trust, NAC, and SASE conceptsFamiliarity with Belgian or EU security and compliance standards
