General Characteristics and Purpose
Evaluates, selects, and applies engineering/scientific techniques, processes, and criteria, using judgment in order to make adaptations and modifications to existing products, in line with client needs and requirements.
Representative Activities
1. Ensures correct translation of client demands into product specifications and modifications.
2. Interprets, makes, and/or adapts technical drawings and blue prints.
3. Calculates the technical feasibility of product adaptations and the impact on the production process and quality assurance.
4. Executes risk analysis for (new) product modifications.
5. Has direct contact with clients and sales to understand technical requirements and ensure correct customization of products.
6. May supervise or coordinate the work of drafters, technicians or aides who assist in specific assignments, but focus is technical rather than managerial.
7. Typically reports to an Engineering Manager.
