Purpose:
The Accounting & Tax Manager role holds a key place within the Finance team. He/she is responsible for driving the highest standards of financial reporting, controls and compliance. The scope includes stewardship of key accounting processes (R2R & Payroll), support and facilitation of tax reporting, audit and statutory filings. He/she will be in close collaboration with a wide pool of internal and external stakeholders: the Elanco Business Solutions (EBS) in Poland, the internal Accounting and Finance community as well as external auditors, tax consultants and local authorities
Location: BeNeNo Head office – Antwerp Belgium
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:
Financial Reporting (R2R)
1. Month-end close and monthly trial balance review
2. Collaboration with EBS in monthly US GAAP accounting and reporting
3. Preparation and review of statutory accounts
4. Primary relationship owner with external auditors
5. Provision of technical accounting & controls advice to local business & support functions
Payroll
6. Controlling of all payroll transactions, in collaboration with EBS
7. Ensure correct vacation accruals
Tax
8. Responsible for local tax compliance activities and management of payments.
9. Manage the relationship with tax authorities and tax advisors.
10. Maintain a robust system of controls relating to all aspects of company taxation and assisting with the finalization of Tax Statements and sign off.
11. Provide transfer pricing support and own the implementation of local transfer pricing policies.
Process Expertise and Business Partnership
12. Prove thorough ownership of the local Financial Statements (US GAAP and Local GAAP) through adherence to financial reporting policies and accountability for general accounting processes executed locally.
13. Act as key subject matter expert on Local GAAP policies/ procedures interpretation.
14. Influence and coordinate the integration of local, regional and corporate initiatives.
Controls
15. Demonstrate a strong compliance-oriented mindset & help to build a strong compliance culture.
16. Awareness of all applicable financial/taxation standards, process documentation & training materials to ensure compliant execution of daily operations.
17. Ensure ownership for all applicable SOX & Operational controls as well as broader oversight of all controls that influence the Financial Statements.
Treasury
18. Conduct cash flow forecasts
Requirements:
Minimum Requirements:
19. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Finance & Accounting
20. Proven analytical, problem solving, and communication skills
21. Ability to work in a diverse team environment (local/ regional/ global) and to communicate effectively with both internal & external stakeholders (auditors, consultants, tax authorities)
22. Dutch and English
Additional Preferences:
23. Chartered Accountant
24. Accounting & tax experience in Multinational or equivalent Big4 Accounting Companies
25. SAP experience
26. Knowledge of US GAAP
27. Local financial reporting and Tax experience
