This role is based in Ghent, Belgium, within the E&PS FM team responsible for facilities and utilities at Ghent manufacturing hubs, with sites in Beerse, Geel, Olen, La Louvière, Courcelles and Ghent.
The Ghent E&PS FM team is recruiting a staff reliability engineer for the 2 production sites in Ghent and future expansions. The position is based in Ghent (Belgium) and reports to the senior facilities manager.
You Will Be Responsible For
* Facilities Asset Maintenance: ensure adequate preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance for all facilities assets; manage asset list/register and asset history.
* Work Management & Optimization: drive the implementation and continuous improvement of work management processes, including work order planning, scheduling, execution and tracking.
* Facilities Compliance & Safety: maintain adherence to regulatory standards, safety protocols, and environmental/sustainable requirements.
* Asset Technology & Data Integration: stay current with asset management technologies, including IoT-enabled assets, to enhance maintenance planning, reliability and data-driven decision-making.
* Maintenance Reliability & Fundamentals: apply maintenance reliability principles (e.g., root cause analysis, FMEA); analyze PMs and drive optimisations; conduct regular failure analyses.
* Leadership & Team Development: collaborate with the scheduler and engineers; foster proactive safety culture; co-promote continuous learning; act as backup for the facilities manager.
* System & Data Management: operate and maintain CMMS, add assets with accurate master data, and ensure high-quality data maintenance in CMMS.
* Budget & Performance Metrics: develop and maintain KPIs for facilities and utilities; report progress to the senior manager and site leadership; coordinate with Finance on depreciations.
* Key Relationships: maintain excellent internal and external relationships with stakeholders and project teams; collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineers on changes and improvements.
Qualifications / Requirements
* Master’s degree in engineering, architecture, life sciences, or equivalent experience; excellent technical knowledge.
* 8–10+ years of facilities management experience in facilities, utilities and maintenance.
* Experience with GxP and quality management.
* Strong leadership and teamwork skills with proven relationship-building ability.
* Operational experience in facilities or maintenance management.
* Solid understanding of work management principles and systems.
* In-depth knowledge of facilities compliance and safety standards.
* Proficiency in CMMS and latest asset management technologies, including IoT systems.
* Foundational knowledge of maintenance reliability practices.
* Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving abilities; ability to handle tight timelines; stress-resilient.
* Willingness to work peak loads with long days/weeks during shutdowns.
* Can-do mentality; strong written and spoken communication in Dutch and English; other languages are a plus.
