Hays, a recruitment and selection agency, is currently looking for an Accounting Manager for one of its international clients. Our client is a well-established organization active in the services sector, operating across multiple European countries. The company employs several thousand people and is known for its structured yet collaborative corporate culture. Finance plays a central role within the organization, with strong interaction between Accounting, FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Legal and other internal stakeholders. The Belgian headquarters acts as a key European support center, working closely with local entities in different markets.

Your new role
As Accounting Manager, you report to the Senior Accounting Manager and take responsibility for accounting and financial reporting activities for several legal entities. You combine operational accounting with a managerial and project‐driven role in a high‐visibility environment.
Your responsibilities include:
• Ensuring accurate and timely financial statements in line with IFRS and local GAAP
• Managing the Purchase‐to‐Pay process, intercompany activities and inventory accounting
• Overseeing month‐end, year‐end closing and statutory accounts for Belgian and French entities
• Coordinating management reporting, budget preparation and forecast support
• Acting as a key contact for auditors, tax specialists and external service providers
• Supporting financial system transformations and continuous process improvements
• Ensuring compliance with internal control frameworks and regulatory requirements
• Managing and developing a team of accounting professionals
• Coordinating information flows between finance and non‐finance departments
• Supporting acquisitions, audits and special accounting projects when required
This role requires both hands‐on accounting involvement and the ability to lead, structure and optimize processes.
Your profile
You are an experienced finance professional with strong people management skills and an international mindset.
You bring:
• At least 10 years of experience in accounting, ideally in a multi‐entity environment
• Minimum 4 years of managerial experience within accounting or finance teams
• A degree in accounting, finance or a related field
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, local GAAP and statutory reporting
• Experience with ERP systems, SAP knowledge is a must
• Advanced Excel skills and solid system affinity
• Fluency in French and English, both written and spoken
• Strong organizational, communication and stakeholder management skills
• A collaborative, structured and solution‐oriented working style
