Senior Tax Manager

The Senior Tax Manager for Soren McAdam LLP is the liaison between the partner, client, and staff. This position manages multiple projects and client engagements simultaneously, schedules and staffing to coordinate engagement workflow, develops and trains staff, and participates in business development activities.

Requirements

* Minimum of 7 years experience required.
* Minimum of 2 years supervising and directing the work of tax staff.
* Master’s in Tax or J.D. preferred but not required.


Responsibilities

* Understand and communicate recent tax developments and their implications for clients.
* Prepare complex client correspondence including recommendations, technical issues, and proposals.
* Develop expertise in specialized industry areas while maintaining generalist ability; focus on Individuals, Partnerships, and Limited Liability entities.
* Manage client relationships, manage expectations, and meet deliverable deadlines.
* Research complex tax issues and direct research activities of staff.
* Represent the firm before tax agencies.
* Demonstrate thorough understanding of the client’s business beyond tax.
* Develop, motivate, and train staff through professional and technical excellence.
* Identify opportunities to provide additional services and pursue them.
* Collaborate with managers and partners on team and client issues.


Education & Experience

* Minimum of 7 years experience.
* Minimum of 2 years supervising and directing work of tax staff.
* Master’s in Tax or J.D. preferred but not required.

Authority & Responsibility

* Reports to the Tax Partner of Soren McAdam LLP.
* Direct reports may include Staff, Senior and Supervisor level tax team members.
* Provide regular feedback including performance reviews of staff.
