For our client, one of Europe’s fastest growing high-tech manufacturing groups active in vision, imaging and defense technology, we are looking for an E ngineering Manager – Validation Strategy & Test Automation.
Reporting to: VP of R&D
Location: Leuven, Belgium
This role requires both:
* strong disciplinary leadership experience
* and strong hands-on experience defining and implementing validation strategies and test automation strategies for complex hardware products.
You will not only lead the organization, but also drive the technical direction of validation, qualification and product release readiness decisions.
Your Tasks
* Lead the Product Delivery Group across Test & Measurement and Transfer to Production
* Define and drive validation strategies, qualification concepts, release methodologies and automated test approaches for new hardware products
* Define pass/fail criteria, validation coverage, definition-of-done standards and product readiness processes for transfer into manufacturing
* Drive qualification and release readiness decisions, balancing technical risk, product maturity and release timelines
* Define scalable automated validation and measurement infrastructures, including automation concepts, workflows and qualification setups
* Ensure products are properly tested, validated, qualified and ready for manufacturing release
* Act as the interface between R&D and production for product readiness and transfer to production
* Provide disciplinary leadership, coaching and development for a multidisciplinary engineering team
Your Profile
* Master’s degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mechatronics, Systems Engineering or similar, combined with ~10 years of experience in hardware validation, test engineering, qualification and transfer-to-production environments
* Proven experience in at least two different roles defining validation strategies, qualification methodologies, release criteria and test approaches for complex hardware products
* Strong hands-on experience architecting and implementing automated test environments, automated measurement infrastructures and scalable validation workflows
* Proven disciplinary leadership experience including hiring, performance reviews, coaching, team development and people management responsibility
* Experience with complex hardware products such as sensors, imaging systems, electronics, semiconductors, aerospace or defense technologies
* Fluent English
