Summary

Our Hopper dredgers (TSHD) and Cutter dredgers (CSD) work around the world on the most challenging dredging projects. Being a sailor with DEME is not only sailing from A to B. You need to work with the dredging equipment, which you can only learn by doing it. If you have experience in dredging, please apply here.

7. You will work on board a TSHD, CSD or split barge depending on your motivation and skills, under the First Mate’s supervision

8. You are responsible for the watchkeeping, navigation, the dredging process, the maintenance of the dredging equipment and the daily operations on board

9. You contribute to the performance of the operational activities and the optimization of production

10. You maintain the safety on board

11. You update navigation charts and books

12. You will be communicating with the project managers, site superintendents, surveyors and local authorities. It is part of the daily job

13. You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in nautical sciences or you followed an 'MBO-4' or ‘HBO’ education in a maritime academy or nautical institute

14. You hold a COC (Certificate of Competency in accordance with the international convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watch keeping for Seafarers 1995)

15. You speak and write fluent English

16. You are flexible to work on projects in Belgium and around the world

17. You have a valid Passport, Seaman's Book, Seafarers Medical

18. You have a strong awareness of Health, Safety and Environment

19. You have a hands-on and no nonsense mentality

20. Preferably you already have a basic experienced in dredging

Technical Equipment Supervisor

The Technical Equipment Supervisor (TES), is the main responsible person for the technical state of the Cable Burial Tool (CBT), whether on the vessel during operations or on shore during maintenance and modifications. The TES is also the main responsible person on the vessel to execute burial in accordance with the agreed burial methodology and has a key role in the optimization of the burial process, improvement program for the trencher and the training of the operational crew.

Geologist

As a geologist, you will work as a part of the EDT team (Engineering, Design & Technology) in our HQ in Zwijndrecht, near Antwerp (Belgium). Close follow-up, coaching and guidance will be provided of course by Senior colleagues in our geologist team. Next to Geology, the EDT team in activity line Dredging provides support as well in Geotechnics, Coastal Engineering, Environmental engineering, Production and Wear &Tear expertise. This makes the EDT team highly divers in expertise and as such complementary to cover many expert aspects in supporting our projects.
