We are currently partnering with a fast-growing technology company in the Flemish Region that is expanding its data and analytics capabilities. They are seeking a talented Machine Learning Engineer to help drive innovation within their industrial analytics platform. This role is ideal for someone passionate about solving real-world data challenges and building end-to-end machine-learning solutions that deliver measurable impact.
Role Overview
In this position, you will be responsible for developing and integrating machine-learning features into a large-scale analytics platform used across the global process industry. You will work closely with data scientists, backend engineers, and product teams to transform complex data insights into production-ready capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, develop, and deploy machine-learning models for time-series analysis, anomaly detection, forecasting, and predictive maintenance.
* Build and optimise ML pipelines covering data ingestion, preprocessing, feature engineering, model training, validation, and deployment.
* Develop Python-based backend services and APIs to integrate ML components into a cloud-native platform.
* Ensure scalability, reliability, and performance of ML solutions in production environments.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to convert product and business requirements into functional ML/AI capabilities.
* Contribute to architectural discussions and help shape the future of ML-driven features within the platform.
* Maintain high-quality code through testing, documentation, and code reviews.
* Stay up to date with emerging ML tools and techniques to continuously enhance the platform’s capabilities.
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related field.
* Strong experience with Python and ML frameworks such as Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
* Good understanding of time-series data, statistical modelling, or signal processing.
* Experience deploying ML models into production environments.
* Knowledge of SQL and experience with relational databases.
* Understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices, and cloud-based systems (AWS/Azure/GCP).
* Strong analytical thinking and the ability to work effectively in an agile, collaborative environment.
Nice-to-Have Skills
* Experience with MLOps tools (Docker, Kubernetes, MLflow, Airflow).
* Familiarity with industrial data systems or large-scale time-series data.
* Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
* Experience working with additional backend technologies (e.g., Java/Spring Boot).
