Azure Expert / Engineer
We are currently looking for an experienced Azure Expert / Engineer to join a major digital transformation program for one of our clients.
Location: Zaventem region (Belgium)
Duration: Long term assignement - Full-time
On-site: 2 days per week
Languages: English required (French or Dutch is a plus)
Context
Our client is undergoing a large-scale IT modernization and cloud transformation, with Microsoft Azure at the core. To support this strategic initiative, we are seeking a freelance Azure expert to guide and execute the migration from on-premises systems to the cloud.
Your Role
You will play a key role in designing and delivering a robust Azure environment:
1. Azure Assessment & Migration Strategy
* Analyze existing infrastructure
* Define a tailored migration roadmap aligned with business needs
2. Infrastructure Migration
* Lead migration of applications, databases, and workloads to Azure
* Ensure minimal disruption to operations
3. Azure Services Implementation
* Configure and optimize services such as:
* Virtual Machines
* Azure SQL
* Azure Networking (VNETs, Load Balancers, etc.)
* Azure Active Directory
* PaaS & IaaS solutions
4. Security & Compliance
* Implement security best practices
* Ensure compliance with relevant standards
5. Monitoring & Management
* Set up monitoring, alerting, and performance tracking
* Maintain a stable and secure cloud environment
Your Profile
Experience
* Strong hands-on experience with Azure (architecture & deployment)
* Proven track record with cloud-native solutions (APIs, microservices, serverless)
* Experience with Infrastructure as Code (ARM, Bicep, Terraform)
* Knowledge of Azure data services (Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Data Lake, Synapse)
* CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions)
* Azure security & compliance best practices
* Monitoring tools (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights)
* Familiarity with Azure AD, AD Application Proxy, Azure AD B2C
Technical Skills
* Scripting: PowerShell, Python, or Bash
* Strong troubleshooting skills across cloud, networking, and security
Soft Skills
* Strong communication with technical & business stakeholders
* Autonomous, structured, and solution-oriented
* Eager to learn and evolve in a fast-changing cloud ecosystem
Nice to Have
* Azure certifications (e.g., AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-500, AZ-700, AZ-140)
* Azure Solutions Architect Expert or DevOps Engineer Expert
